You will be joining a privately owned, well establised and successful fire protection company who are looking for recruit a professional and experienced Financial Controller.
Working out of their Amersham based office you will take ownership of:-
Managing and implementing the flow of financial information through the business on a daily basis. Working in line with company timescales for the production of monthly accounts, project reporting and all internal and external payments including but not limited to bank reconciliation and transactions.
Working with the external company accountant at year end to produce and finalise annual accounts. Working with the senior management team to manage the business and meet its objectives.
Finance:
• Preparation of monthly management accounts and commentary
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Annual audit and assist with preparation of statutory accounts for filing
• Financial planning and analysis
• Purchase Ledger including invoice entry, subcontractor billing process via applications, twice monthly payment runs
• Sales Ledger including project and retention invoicing
• Credit control
• Management of retentions
• Monthly project schedules and analysis
• Oversee Project Administration role and provide cover for absences
• Annual budgets and Reforecasts
• Project accounting, evaluating profitability of projects, ensuring each project remains cash positive throughout the project lifecycle through monthly WIP reviews.
• Accounting for fixed assets
• Bad debt provisioning
• Manage intercompany legacy balances
• Financial evaluation of new customers
• Monthly VAT Returns
• Construction Industry Scheme returns
• CT61 tax returns
• Monthly payroll and payroll year end
• Annual P11D reporting
• Cash management and treasury including daily bank reconciliations, allocation of receipts and payments
• Weekly cashflow forecasting
• Manage pension process and report to Regulator
• Liaison with external stakeholders including bank, HMRC, Pensions Regulator, auditors, insurers, solicitors, suppliers, and customers
• Provision of financial references for external parties
• Company secretarial duties
• Strategic planning, assisting with preparation of 3/5 year plan
• Assist with M&A activities
• Any other ad hoc duties
