I am supporting a leading distributor in their search for a Credit Controller to join their Finance Team. Reporting to the Financial Accountant, this Credit Control role joins a team of 3 aiding the collection of UK Sales and reconciliation of Debt.

This role takes a "nontraditional" approach, whilst you will look after you own ledger & will have experience in a similar role the ideal candidate will have a problem solving approach: able to network within the business as well as with customers externally to, not only build relationships but also, investigate any aged debt to gain a full picture & informed approach to collection.

About the position:

Look after your ledger working on a monthly billing cycle

Attend weekly debtor meetings with Finance

Able to highlight issues/trends in order to create POAs to resolve debt

Liaise with external & internal teams to support any issues

Maintain regular communication with customers, ensuring debts are managed as needed

Keep up to date with key accounts, aware of pricing structure, agreed/ad hoc terms as well as any previous issues

Ensure returns are processed and matched correctly

Chase overdue debts via phone and email

Use third party software to conduct customers' credit status

Send out all relevant documentation (PDF, EDI invoicing, credit notes etc)

Maintain accurate & timely records of all of the above

Able to achieve cash & debtor targets

About the package:

Full time working hours (Monday- Friday, 9am – 5pm)

Experience working in a similar Credit Control Role

A sound & firm decision maker

Strong judgement & commercial awareness

Excellent computer skills (specifically Excel & SAP)

A proactive approach to your workload

Keen eye for detail

Exceptional verbal & written communication skills
