Lace Hill Manor is operated by Maria Mallaband and is the second addition of the exciting role out of state-of-the-art care homes. A 62-bed private care home designed for residential, nursing and dementia care currently under construction in Needlepin Way, Buckingham, and is set to open in Spring 2022. Everything at Lace Hill Manor will be led by the people that live and work in the home – they will be involved in every decision.

The Dementia Care Manager will lead by example, demonstrating a clear passion & enthusiasm for providing the highest standards of innovative, effective and person-centred Dementia care, as well as being responsible for the safe running of the Dementia care suite within Lace Hill Manor
Duties will include
To take responsibility for the running of the Dementia care suite in line with regulatory requirements
Supporting people living with Dementia to have a voice and be heard within the running of one’s home, promoting physical, social, emotional and spiritual wellbeing – have FUN
Leading on pre-assessment, capturing one’s personhood life history
Engaging with families, friends & the local community by holding monthly support & awareness sessions
Promoting and sharing best practice with others, providing information, advice and guidance. Keeping staff up to date regarding current dementia issues/changes in regulations and guidelines
Lead by example – disseminate and support new initiatives to improve care. Assist in any changes to practice and culture, empowering the team to develop good practice in caring for people living with Dementia
Work alongside the Home Manager to recruit members of the Dementia care team, then taking full responsibility to induct, train, supervise & continually oversee the development of all staff within that team, identifying any additional training for staff, sharing your specialist knowledge as well as identifying gaps and updating your own skills and knowledge
To liaise with the management team regarding people moving into the home, ensuring that the ‘move in’ experience is organised, professional, personal and rememberable for all the right reasons
