The Purchasing Administrator RoleWorking as a member of our procurement team, you will support the wider operation whilst upholding the company wide National procurement strategy. Within this role you will undertake some routine and administration tasks daily, but also gain varied exposure to wider procurement tasks and scenarios whilst actively focusing on ensuring that correct stock levels are ordered and held for our customers.Purchasing Administrator Key Duties
Daily Excel use, including updating Spreadsheets with stock information
Checking suppliers have orders and requesting order acknowledgements
Confirming order acknowledgements and advising sales of any delivery issues
Updating pricing sheets
Liaise with logistics team to ensure 24/48hour delivery schedule is maintained for all customers
Develop and maintain a good knowledge of all packaging solutions, imparting this knowledge with other colleagues
Directly supporting the local team with day-to-day procurement activity
Closely supporting customer service with up-to-date delivery information and / alternatives
To purchase standard and non-standard stock items, maintaining cost effective stock levels
Develop a full understanding of the total supply chain function and all packaging solutions
Actively seek to reduce stock holding and material costs
To ensure that purchasing transactions are carried out in the timeliest and cost-effective manner
Administer purchase orders and all other associated administration
General office duties as required to support the wider team & operation
Do you have the correct profile?We certainly welcome your application if you have gained experience of working within a fast-paced commercial environment and can demonstrate transferable skills including administration, communication, and customer service. Please note that whilst advantageous, no prior experience within procurement or purchasing is necessary as full training and a clear pathway for development will be provided. As a minimum requirement, we do also seek strong computer literacy (MS Office to include Excel spreadsheets as well as learning inhouse systems) & strong attention to detail. You will also ideally have some previous experience of working within a small office-based team.
