My client in High Wycombe is looking for a Housing Officer to join their team on a temporary basis until the end of April 2022.
Pay: £16.69ph
Hours: 37 per week
Hybrid working is available – Mixture of working from home and office
JOB PURPOSE:
To manage a portfolio of multi tenure properties across various local authority boundaries effectively, ensuring the best interests of all customers, stakeholders and the business are met.
Delivering a value for money service through effective partnership working with internal teams, external partners and agencies, and through customer involvement.
To work towards a top-performance culture, ensuring team and personal targets are met.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The day-to-day management of tenancies across a range of tenures, including voids and lettings (including decants, end of tenancy visits, viewings and key interviews), successions, assignments, mutual exchanges and management moves.
To proactively manage breaches of tenancy obligations; including, serving appropriate notices / legal documentation, working with external partners and attending court
To have overall responsibility of our estates including; working with the Estate Services Team and Property Services to ensure they are well maintained, working with residents to ensure satisfaction is high, and proactively identifying ways to improve our estates.
Oversee and manage a patch budget for maintenance and estate improvements.
To work with residents, internal and external partners and agencies to support and sustain tenancies, including; making appropriate referrals to support agencies, providing housing options information and advice, and developing relationships and networking with other organisations to enable more effective working.
Attend and actively input into site visits, scheme briefings and post occupation reviews as well as working alongside Development team on all new housing schemes.
To participate in a duty rota to provide cover during normal office hours and where needed provide out of hours support to customers and staff, including out of hours meetings and events.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Ability to provide a responsive efficient service which is underpinned by quality and value for money E
Previous experience of generic housing management including managing a patch E
Experience of court representation for various tenancy issues E
Knowledge of multiple housing tenures including shared ownership, leaseholder, temporary housing, assured and assured shorthold tenancies and fixed term tenancies. E
Working knowledge of current housing legislation and best practice E
Able to effectively communicate and negotiate with residents, partners and contractors, especially in difficult situations E
Creative thinker; E
Ability to take personal responsibility for assessing situations, making decisions and concluding enquiries; E
Ability to multi-task and deal with competing priorities. E
Experience of managing a budget P
Previous experience of managing complaints P
Hold a "Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS)" qualification P
