Once Britain's Best-Kept Secret, Bletchley Park, is a unique heritage site and vibrant tourist attraction and is now seeking a Learning Session Leader based in Bletchley, Milton Keynes to join its expanding team on a part-time, zero-hour contract basis. You will receive a company pension scheme, BUPA health cash plan scheme and holiday pro rata 33 days pa including statutory holidays.
As a Learning Session Leader, you will be providing exemplary educational experiences to formal and informal groups through the delivery of high-quality, interactive lessons on a wide-range of cross-curriculum themes. This role will require you to focus on our KS3-5 groups (11-18-year-olds) and adult learners (Universities and other groups) but may also be required to lead KS1 and KS2 groups from time to time.
In return, a Learning Session Leader will receive a salary of £13.00 – £14.50 per hour, depending on experience.
As a Learning Session Leader, your responsibilities will include:
Leading and delivering engaging and interactive workshops, tours, and lessons for our formal and informal educational groups of all abilities.
Supporting our family programme during holiday periods.
Ensuring that all our visitors have an enjoyable experience and seek to exceed expectations at every opportunity.
Ensuring that educational spaces are presentable, and all resources are set up and cleared away appropriately.
Responding to correspondence from the team in a professional and timely manner.
Developing positive and sustainable working relationships with our team of volunteers and staff.
Keeping a record of working hours and submit monthly timesheets.
Guiding and supporting volunteer assistants as and when required.
Follow the trust’s policies and procedures on safeguarding, customer care, equal opportunities and HSE requirements.
Attending any team meetings, training and supervision as required.
Being willing to undertake additional duties as reasonably requested.
Supporting and assisting with the ongoing development of resources and ideas within the department at Bletchley Park.
Being willing to work occasional evenings and weekends to meet the needs of our groups.
To be a successful Learning Session Leader, your daily duties will include:
Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or proven equivalent experience within a heritage, museum, formal or informal education setting.
Relevant, recent experience of leading educational lessons and working within an educational environment, museum, gallery, or similar setting.
Knowledge and experience of best practice delivery to SEND groups and individuals.
The ability to adapt your delivery style and pace to the needs and requirements of the group.
A strong understanding of interpretation and theory and practice.
A track record of leading engaging activities for KS3-5 groups and adult learners.
Strong organisational, time-management and presentation skills.
The ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as autonomously delivering lessons.
A willingness to embrace change, a ‘can do’ attitude and enthusiasm for ensuring everyone has a fantastic experience.
Experience of reflection and evaluation techniques to ensure the department is consistently delivering and exceeding expectations.
The following experience or knowledge is essential:
Experience of delivering learning experiences in face to face and virtual environments
An understanding of or background in STEM subjects.
The following experience or knowledge is Desirable:
Experience of delivering sessions to KS1&2 groups.
Awareness and knowledge of Bletchley Park’s key history and story narratives.
Awareness of current museum, heritage and educational trends, ideas, and direction.

Shift timings are usually 09:45-14:30 – this may vary. Ideal availability is a minimum of 1 day per week. Some weekend work will be required.
