Your Role:
Nationwide Engineering Group are seeking a Assistant Project Manager – Rail / Building / Civils to join us. This is a unique opportunity to work within a highly successful team, delivering a variety of civil and structural work within the rail infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for working on a range of embankment schemes initially, then through to larger schemes such as bridge refurbishments, building refurbishment works, tunnels rehabilitation works, platform end gates and drainage relining works etc.
In this role, you will be responsible for the management of the relevant construction site in order to achieve required project delivery to the Clients objectives. The perfect candidate will be able to achieve this whilst maintaining standards of health and safety, quality, environmental impact and cost control. You will be fully conversant in all paperwork needed to undertake such works (such as WPPs CPPs) and in undertaking task briefings. Additionally, you will deliver multiple on-going projects, to the specified quality, required programme and to the maximum commercial performance. Alongside this, you will work closely with the Estimating, Commercial and Production Departments, to ensure that projects are completed in a safe manner whilst customer requirements and expectations are always maintained or exceeded.

Key Responsibilities:
Site Management:
* Ensure the commercial performance of the contract is maximised
* Assume overall responsibility for the successful delivery of projects
* Deliver the work safely and without environmental incidents
* Deliver the work to the specified quality without defects Ensure production and implementation of Project Plans, RAMS, ITP’s, WPP’s and waste management plans
* Produce and manage the project programme and produce 3 weeks look ahead
* Produce procurement schedules and liaise with the production teams to ensure sites have adequate resources to complete the tasks
* Plan, coordinate and manage site supervisors and subcontractor elements to ensure compliance with safety, specifications, remits and budgets
* Coordinate and plan resource to deliver the works
Client interface:
* Undertake an ambassadorial role representing the business to Clients, public and official bodies
* Deliver end product to Client satisfaction
* Maintain relationships and provide updates on the programme and performance of the works
Cost control:
* Populate and manage the cost plan for the project
* Maximise project value Ensure detailed site diaries/records are completed
* Maintain commercial awareness and monitoring to ensure the project is delivered on time, within budgets
* Endeavour to spot and highlight value engineering opportunities
Reporting:
* Produce good quality, accurate weekly and monthly reports for the Client and internally
* Accurately monitor and update the 3 weekly programmes in line with the main Contract programme.
* Compilation and issue of daily diaries including rates of production
* Ensure statutory compliance documentation is maintained and updated throughout the project
* Chair weekly site meetings
Essential Skills:
* Previous experience in a similar role
* Proven ability to create and maintain client relationships
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to work confidently both independently and in a team
* A full driving licence
