DC275 – Field Service Engineer

Overview:
First Military Recruitment is working in partnership with our client to recruit a Field Service Engineer. This position is responsible for carrying out modification, retrofit activity, corrective action, and repair and maintenance activity on Company products.
You will identify modification procedures, requirements and design changes required to ensure successful transition from development standard to production standard of Company products, and aid in the preparation of seat tests as necessary.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Visit customer facilities to carry out trial installation on development projects and feedback findings – this includes but is not limited to installation of seats, inter seat sequencing systems, and canopy fracturing/removal systems.
Visit customer’s facilities to undertake installations, retrofit programmes, modifications and maintenance of Company products.
Convert seats based on specifications, and be part of the installation team specifying changes and procedures for bespoke installations and modifications.
Deliver training to end-users on installation and initial preparation, and immediate main activities, and certify them to these standards.
Complete warranty repairs / corrective action of Company products including ejection seats and parachute packing presses.
Manage and control parts and tools required to fulfil the role of Field Service Engineer.
Complete visit reports for visits, servicing, installation etc. in a timely fashion.
Assist in the preparation for a Seat Test.
Prepare seats for business development air shows and mock installations.
Validation and verification of technical data (manuals, mod leaflets, drawings etc).
Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as required / instructed in order to maintain and / or improve the efficiency, quality and service provided by the Design Support Department.
To undertake business travel abroad or within the UK as and when required.
Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required:
Able to obtain a Security Clearance.
Thorough experience as a seat mechanic / aircraft maintenance, with experience gained within the aerospace or defence sectors.
Mechanical hand skills – e.g. using multiple types of hand and power tools for taking apart and rebuilding assemblies, drilling, cutting, riveting etc.
Strong customer service skills as you will be representing the Company to customers when travelling.
HNC/BTech/NVQ 3/4 – mechanical / aerospace engineering or equivalent.
Considered a subject matter expert.
Thorough application and experience of product maintenance techniques.
Excellent team worker.
Strong verbal ability – communication skills.
Basic competency in MS Office suite for report writing, analysis.
Ability to work on your own in difficult environments.
Technical knowledge of Company products (desirable).
Basic instructional techniques and experience (desirable)
Royal Aeronautical Society IMECHE (desirable)
Control of Explosives Regulations compliance (desirable).
