Copello Global are on the lookout for a Systems Lead Project Engineer to work with a Defence organisation based in Buckinghamshire and/or Surrey.

The Systems Lead Project Engineer is responsible for leading the team of engineers within the integrated project teams bringing together your knowledge of the Systems function with Project Management techniques in order to support the Programme Manager.

The Systems Lead Project Engineer is involved from the initial bid phases all the way through project execution and customer delivery, giving you a full 360 degree involvement in the businesses product flow. Collaborating with the Programme Manager and Engineering Leads, you'll create the scope of works for projects and actively manage the project gateways taking into account cost, scheduling and delivery timescales.

Other key deliverables include:
– Technical leadership of the multi-functional project engineering team.
– Deliver whole systems from cradle to grave.
– Work with and provide necessary support and information the bid team.
– Work with internal and external stakeholders to inform on project progress and ongoing management.
– Focal point for escalations.
– Responsible for guiding the engineering team on project delivery on-time and to budget.

Your Skills / background:
– Degree qualified in a technology / engineering discipline.
– Previous history working in defence or avionics complex projects (or similar).
– Good understanding of the Systems Engineering disciplines as well as Project Management techniques.
– Ability to lead, mentor and develop a team of engineers.
– Experience within ARP4754A critical safety regulations.
– DOORS / DOORS Next Gen knowledge.
– Ability to work with teams based remotely and across multiple sites.
– Waterfall & Agile methodologies.
– Microsoft Office suite as well as Microsoft Project.
– You must be eligible for UK SC level Security Clearance.
