Overall Role

Working on locations as a mobile technician and to assist with breakdowns on the company’s fleet of trucks and trailers. Carry out preventative maintenance inspections.

The core competencies for this role are good HGV mechanical knowledge

Key Performance Indicators

1. Health and safety is observed at all times, taking no shortcuts.

2. Maintain flexible attitude towards working hours

3. Keep the Company’s van clean, tidy, well-equipped and stocked with essential parts

4. Check-sheets and reports are fully completed legibly and returned to the supervisor in a timely manner

Main duties and responsibilities:

* Be aware and conversant on health and safety regulations, risk assessments and always adhere to them, taking no shortcuts or unnecessary risks

* To be responsible for preventive maintenance inspections on our fleet of trucks

* To drive the Company van in a responsible courteous manner at all times – keeping it roadworthy, clean and in good condition

* Attend breakdowns and repair, order parts and complete job cards where required

* Work with the maintenance team to maintain all company trucks to the highest standard

* Carryout repairs safely to the highest standards and complete job cards

* Generate reports for the Fleet Manager so that he is kept fully aware of issues in the field

* Advise Fleet Manager of any improvements to enhance reliability and reduce costs

* Carry out any other reasonable task which may arise from time to time and bring to the attention of the Contract Maintenance Manager any matter which could be detrimental to the wellbeing of the company
