About this client/child:
Sarah is a delightful and inquisitive 4-year-old who loves family time, playing with her brother, watching children’s TV and swimming. Sarah has cerebral palsy, global development delay and epilepsy and is reliant on others to meet all her care needs and to enable her to access the world around her. Sarah can experience high levels of anxiety when faced with an unknown situation, so requires a kind and reassuring approach. Sarah strives for her independence and has a full therapy team in place, as well as a Snap Care SEN Nanny supporting all her developmental skills. The team is now expanding, and we are seeking an experienced Waking Night Carer to join.
Overview of role:
Sarah’s therapy team are working closely to develop and establish a sleep routine, they are currently waiting on results from a sleep study. Currently Sarah wakes often and can be unsettled throughout the night; her day can start as early as 3.00am if she is unable to settle back to sleep. The experienced Waking Night Carer will be trained by and follow the set routine and guidance from specialists and therapists to support Sarah throughout the night. The Waking Night Carer will follow all aspects of Sarah’s care and support plan, assist with personal care, manual handling, record and accurately document information, monitor Sarah’s health and tend to all her needs throughout the night.
Who this job would suit:
Sarah requires a calm and compassionate female* Waking Night Carer who has experience supporting young children with additional needs. A non-smoker/vaper is essential. This is a permanent role offering 3 set shifts per week, so we are looking for a long-term commitment.
