Home Care Assistant – Bring a smile to the face of an elderly person living locally
About You
You may or may not have previous Home Care experience, it really does not matter. We have learnt that many of the following words describe people who excel and enjoy working as a Home Companion: Kind, Reliable, Friendly, Compassionate, Chatty and Honest. You will need a full UK Driving Licence with access to a car.
The Role of a Home Care Assistant
Our Home Care Assistants typically spend a minimum of 1 hour with each of our elderly private clients who live in their own homes in High Wycombe, Beaconsfield, Loudwater, Chalfont, Holmers Green, Stokenchurch, Flackwell Heath and surrounding areas. Duties differ from visit to visit. Whilst some clients require varying levels of Personal Care, many just need a little help getting their meals prepared or keeping on top of basic housework, gardening or going to the shops. One task that will be ever present is the ability to make a good cup of tea and have a friendly chat.
Are You New to Home Care?
As a brand new Home Care Assistant, going into someone’s home to deliver care and support can seem a daunting prospect. To ensure you are fully prepared all staff undertake a thorough training program followed by regular ongoing and refresher training. Your initial home visits will always be carried out with a colleague whilst you ‘find your feet’. You will also have management support on every home visit you then make. Never will you be ‘thrown in at the deep end’
Flexible Hours of Work
Can you commit to 15 hours or more per week? Perhaps you are looking for 20, or 30 or 40 hours per week, which is great. We deliver care in the mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and nights, which allows your job to fit around your home life. Generally, we are visiting clients 7 days a week from 7am – 10pm but also have a vacancy for a night carer working 9.30pm to 6.30am approx.
What’s In It For You?
Whilst the competitive pay of £10.80 rising to £16.20 on bank holidays, per hour of care delivered, PLUS: holiday pay, paid mileage, realistic travel time between clients and company pension contributions are all important, what most of our Home Support Assistants say they value is; being part of a supportive team, having their suggestions listened to, learning new skills and doing a job that consistently delivers personal satisfaction.
