What are we looking for?
We’re on the hunt for a new Compliance and Data Expert to assist our Head of Compliance in leading and inspiring all LifeSearchers to align our compliance strategies with our culture and business objectives, which will drive forward improvements in engagement and result in adding value to the LifeSearch brand and profitability.
You’ll be responsible for the implementation and ongoing upkeep relating to specified areas of compliance at LifeSearch as to enable the best possible advice and TCF for our customers at all times, working alongside the Compliance and Risk Managers, and Data Protection Officer.
You will educate the business so that all LifeSearch teams understand their entwined compliance and culture responsibilities. This means all LifeSearchers treating customers and each other in the right way. Your sphere of influence spans across FCA regulatory requirements as well as professional standards, Data Protection law and best practice.
You’ll need to be a good communicator, have an eye for detail and an inquisitive mind with the ability to work under pressure using your own initiative. Previous experience in providing clear communications to others and ability to focus on the fine detail is essential, with experience of auditing or monitoring being an advantage.
What you'll be getting up to.
Your main responsibilities will be:
Act as a point of contact across the business for general compliance advice
Autonomy over the Franchise & LifeSearch Website & Media monitoring and controls
Autonomy over the Franchise compliance monitoring and inspection
Autonomy over Introducer on-boarding, oversight and ongoing inspection and management
Influence change within Franchises and the Franchise leadership team where regulatory standards are not being met or new requirements must be adopted
Work collaboratively with the Risk Manager to deliver Appointed Representative audits
Maintain Financial promotion, conflict of interest, breaches & other regulatory record keeping
Quarterly monitoring of Training and Competency records and facilitate L&D content reviews
Assist with Compliance monitoring and auditing activities, and annual process and policy reviews
Assist with annual SM&CR reviews and certification process
Maintain industry awareness through research, publications and attending regulatory training days and alert the Head of Compliance to upcoming regulatory changes to requirements and guidance
Assist with roll outs of regulatory change and updates across the business
Communicate new policies and reminders across the business using the Intranet, attending meetings and communicating with peers
Ensure business is adhering to key policies – i.e. TCF, Vulnerable Customers, Data Protection etc.
You will possess strong working knowledge of regulatory standards with relevant previous experience and ensure that you hold the knowledge required to support the Head of Compliance.
