Market Development Executive
£20-25k + bonus + excellent benefits package
37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday
Hybrid working (50% in the office)
Due to our continued success as one of the country’s leading suppliers of heavy commercial vehicles we have an exciting opportunity for a Market Development Executive who takes pride in providing excellent customer service and has a passion for working with the best.
If you have previous retail, sales or telephone advisory experience this role could be an excellent opportunity for you to gain experience working with a premium brand.
Based at our modern offices in Milton Keynes and reporting to the Customer Contact Centre Manager, you will seek to generate new leads for products and services via the telephone; provide a one-stop-shop for customers to get information about our range of products and services; develop customer awareness of our complete range of products and services; work closely with the region’s Sales teams and workshops to increase Contact Centre knowledge of all products and services for the benefit of customers.
Responsibilities:
* Identify a telephone call list of prospects and customers
* Identify opportunities to increase sales of vehicles and services via a structured prospecting approach, using value selling and segmentation techniques
* Make calls to target companies to identify relevant decision-makers to be contacted and confirm their contact details
* Steer conversations to clearly identify customers’ needs and update the customer database accordingly
* Act as first point of contact for incoming sales enquiries e.g. from web or marketing material
* Quality good prospects through structured questions and pass leads to each sales team within the business
* Develop good relationships with customers as well as the internal sales force
* Develop a good understanding of the business potential with the territory through prospecting
* Ensure contact coverage of the territory is maintained by telephone
* Develop knowledge of Scania vehicle products and service packages
* Support Regional New Sales and Aftersales teams with achievement of targets with respect to customer contacts, market share and business aspirations, ongoing promotional activities and campaigns
* Contribute to development of Marketing collateral and campaigns as required
* Develop relationships with prospects as well as internal sales force
* Maintain ADP Autoline database
* Management of the process using IRIS computer system
Key requirements for the role:
* Confident and articulate telephone manner based on relationship building not simply call centre type sales
* Confident, resilient, with strong influencing skills and persistence
* Comfortable with cold calling
* Motivated by successful target achievement but appreciating that the quality of appointments will be measured not by their volume but by their ultimate success
* Cooperative working manner – must work well with individuals across the company at all levels
* Ambition to develop selling skills and progress within a Scania sales or marketing function
* Computer literate, ideally previous user of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) packages
* Good understanding of Customer Relationship Management concepts
* Good organisational skills
