Due to the continued success, my client is seeking an additional Applications Engineer with proven experience of working in the Automotive industry, preferably within vehicle testing and able to demonstrate working on or managing concurrent projects
You will join a business who offers innovative development in new technologies for the automotive industry and work with the domestic trade and motorsport sectors.
You will be part of a team of 7 applications engineers in the project team and be involved in the development and testing of new technologies and ideally have an engineering degree or HNC level qualification, or by qualified by experience.
Candidates need to hold a full driver licence, this role may also require customer site visits to support UK customers, with some overnight stays in Europe and Asia to support dealers.
Basic salary up to £40,000 plus annual bonus of c£5,000 and excellent benefits
Candidate
* You will have experience in managing concurrent projects with experience of reading and understanding technical documentation such as regulations, specifications, and product data sheets/manuals
* Able to work closely in a team of cross-discipline engineers
* Experience in a customer facing role
Desired skills
* Experience with scripting languages such as Python, C#, and JavaScript
* Exposure to GNSS and INS technologies
* Experience in sales and customer management
Duties
* You will be responsible for analysing and identifying current and future needs of our automotive customers and propose innovative solutions
* Manage and lead all aspects of the product life cycle, from conception through to release, working to deadlines and adapting plans as necessary
* Negotiate and agree actions and time scales for multiple, concurrent engineering projects with other project team members
* Communicate with the development and test teams and report back to management on product/project status.
* Create and maintain detailed and accurate specifications that allow efficient development and testing of new products and features
* Complete user acceptance testing and provide feedback to the development teams
* Provide expert help and guidance to the first line customer support team and other areas of the business as needed
* Provide pre-sales advice to customers and distributors, helping with quotations and on- site customer demonstrations and training
* Assist with the marketing team with activities such as attending Expos, content creation, application notes, magazine articles etc
