About your new company:
A leading contractor operating in the high-end prime residential / commercial refurbishment market.
Duties for the Estimator:
– Work with the Operations Manager to ensure consistency and best practice of working across the business.
– JCT Contract responsibility and review.
– Preparing and collating BOQ and pricing schedules.
– Researching and sourcing materials, equipment and labour costs.
– Collating sub-contractor packages to distribute for quotations.
– Gathering quotes from sub-contractors and suppliers.
– Reviewing and evaluating quotations submitted by sub-contractors.
– Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjust budget projections accordingly.
– Assessing the levels of risk on a project.
– Reading construction and architectural drawings and taking measurements and calculations.
– Preparing and submitting quotations for tenders.
– Helping with bids for new contracts and supporting buying activities.
– Monitoring the phases of project to make sure costs are kept in line with forecasts.
– Valuation analysis.
What you need to succeed:
– Attention to detail
– A good level of IT knowledge including Microsoft applications
– Estimating / surveying experience in high-end refurbishment / commercial fit out.
– An understanding of architectural plans and specifications
– Strong communication skills
