A growing medium sized hardware technology organisation is looking to add a new head to their Purchasing department. The individual should be experienced in managing relationships in particular with suppliers and striving to achieve cost savings but primarily value. Your responsibilities in more detail will be:
Place purchase orders according to the operations requests and keep all tracking documents up to date Daily contact with key suppliers to chase for deliveries or request quotationa
Liaise with field teams to track progress and order variations
Liaise with accounts regarding correct coding and to ensure invoices match PO’s
Support the Procurement Manager in chasing contract renewals and rebate information
Tender out sundry items to suppliers
Negotiate preferential terms with suppliers
Due to the rapid growth of the industry, excellent organisational skills and the ability to take on tasks and prioritise and remain calm under pressure. A minimum of 2 years' Purchasing experience would be required with a desire to develop over time within an expanding company. Study support for CIPS would be forthcoming, ideally for levels 3 or 4
