To lead the provision of product and process solutions in support of our New Product Development plans and to align our technical support to enable delivery and supply of retail own label products.

* Lead the New Product Development team across product and packaging to ensure that recipe, process and finished product ideas deliver the commercial brief.

* Lead the retail technical account team, developing the capability of team members and coordinating a structured technical strategy across the major retail accounts

* Technical lead for the M&S O/L account

* Manage the technical interface between key retail customers and the Hovis business, including overseeing NPD launches and ensuring all manufactured products are legally compliant and meet the retailer requirements with appropriate manufacturing and distribution controls in place.

* Champion and drive the manufacturing standards required of the retailer across the Hovis business

Essential

* Experience of managing the NPD process from concept to factory launch

* Experience of managing technical relationships with retailers in the food category

* Food manufacturing experience, Min 5 years

* HACCP and Food Safety Level 3 qualifications, within last 10 years

* Strong project management skills

* Strong communication skills (both verbal and writing)

* Experience of managing and developing a team

* Ability to guide and coach junior member of site and central technical teams

* Self-starter and ability to operate with minimal supervision

* Strong ability to develop and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Desirable:

* Bakery and Milling manufacturing technical knowledge

* Experience of customer management within the bakery sector

* Project management qualification

* Working knowledge of packaging development

* Understanding of retailer online portals and systems
