A marketing leading Plc business are looking for a senior finance professional to lead the operations finance function for the business. As Head of Finance – Operations you will form part of the Finance Leadership Team reporting directly to the CFO. You will be responsible for overseeing an experienced team who cover a range of Financial Accounting functions. You will also have responsibility for being Business Partner to Group Directors across the business. You will ensure full financial rigour is applied to processes to ensure the reliability of reported numbers and that internal and external controls are adhered to. The Head of Finance Operations will be expected to further collaborate with wider Transformation of the business and drive significant process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage an experienced team who cover a wide range of Financial Accounting, including fixed assets, finance leases, bad debt provisioning and payroll. Provide coaching and development to team members
Finance business partnering for Group Directors (IT, Finance, HR). Provide analysis and challenge of the cost base – identifying areas for cost improvement opportunities
Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, review of associated balance sheet reconciliations and ownership of the planning activity. Ensure Group requirements are met and comply to internal and external requirements
Ensure a robust process is adhered to for consolidated invoicing and distribution of costs across the operating divisions – ensuring governance and approval processes are adopted. Liaising with procurement & external suppliers to ensure the most efficient processes are in place
Prepare and model the group share based payments calculations, ensure the calculations not only comply with accounting standards but consider key financial and strategic options
Responsible for accounting for Restructuring and Exceptional costs across the group ensuring they fully comply with company policies
Ownership of the overall Group fixed asset and lease accounting processes and delivering significant process improvement across these areas
Lead systems and process improvement, including internal control framework development and acquisition integration to deliver effective outputs
Oversee initiatives to improve internal control framework
Ability to build great working relationships with a variety of stakeholders internal and externalPerson Requirements:
Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or other relevant accountancy qualification) with 3+ years' PQE
Experience of leading, developing and coaching a finance team
Strong financial controls, analysis and accounting experience
Ability to communicate confidently and effectively at all levels within the organisation
Excellent attention to detail combined with an ability to work with large volumes of data
Excellent at building relationships and influencing key stakeholders
Resilient with the ability to deliver against demanding deadlines
