Our market leading client is looking to secure the services of a Network Engineer – (DWDM/ Optical) to join their team on a permanent basis.

As the Network Engineer (DWDM/ Optical), you will be responsible for the development and delivery of the Client’s DWDM & Optical service portfolio across their technology lifecycle, ensuring solutions are delivered at pace in a standard, scalable, supportable, and secure manner.

The Network Engineer – DWDM/ Optical role will cover many of the following areas of expertise:

* Interprets internal or external business requirements and develops solutions/best practices

* Creates and contributes to High-level and Low-level designs, test plans, and Method of Procedures

* Solves problems; takes a broad perspective to identify solutions

* Identifies applications of functional knowledge and existing methodologies to complex problems

Required knowledge, skills & experience of a Network Engineer – DWDM/ Optical:

* Technical depth and breadth of optical engineering expertise, especially Photonics and DWDM/ OTN

* Self-motivated, with the ability to work well independently as well as collaboratively, to deliver results

* Well-developed analytical skills

* Good understanding of layer 2 and 3 technologies, with focus on Ethernet, CoS and QoS, MPLS TE, and TCP/IP

* Experience of mixed vendor environments, product life cycle, and technology migrations

* Focus of delivery and right first time

* Attention to detail and continuous improvement

* Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

* Good written and verbal communication skills

* Planning and project management – agile and waterfall
