Your mission: You'll be responsible for planning & design, supplier liaison, implementation duties, support of existing & future network installations, including the existing complex LAN/WAN environments, telephony, & security infrastructure. This is a hands-on technical role with an administrator responsible for the company's networks, services & supporting components. The role incorporates design & implementation of network communications, solution improvements & implements system enhancements (software & hardware updates) that will improve the performance & reliability of the system. Work is controlled, precise & secure at all times in a busy & diverse company undergoing rapid change.

Location: Milton Keynes (Remote working 2 / 3 days a week)
Duration: A Permanent appointment
Salary: up to £48,000 pa plus on-call allowance (£4k pa) bonus pension insurance etc.
Start Date: ASAP.

About you: You'll have experience & strong, hands-on technical knowledge of Cisco routers & switches & WAN, LAN, VLAN, Wireless & VPN design & implementation. A solid technical background in a hosted & cloud services environment including infrastructure, hardware, software, & telecommunications. Good knowledge of IT security practices including – Network segmentation, Firewall policy creation & auditing, patch management, IDS/IPS, VPN profiles & tunnelling technologies.

Strong working knowledge of Network design, routing & VLANs & TCP/IP fundamentals, IPv4/IPv6, MPLS, routing protocol operation. As well as network performance, QoS & fault tolerance diagnosis/troubleshooting for all network devices (routers, switches, WAN, LAN & Wireless circuits, firewalls, & protocols) in an enterprise environment.

If you have any exposure to the Cisco Nexus 6k product family, plus and data centre experience to be able to understand and troubleshoot their environment and the features that it uses (Portchannels, Hsrp, stp, VPC, LACP, Opsf, BGP etc.) so much the better.

As important as your technical skills is a positive & enthusiastic can-do attitude with a conscientious, accurate & diligent mindset. You'll need to be flexible, willing & able to cope with change in a complex pressurised environment with conflicting demands. It goes without saying clear communication & good interpersonal skills with a customer-focused, switched on attitude to customer management taking ownership for issue resolution are going to be needed.

You'll possess good verbal & written communication skills & proficiency in writing technical specifications, & professional certification (preferred but not mandatory).
