We are looking for permanent Fibre Engineers (ideally a team of two) with 5+ years’ of experience in the installation of network cabling infrastructures (in a wide variety of building types) to support the implementation of our Clients new expansion projects (using the Openreach OH/UG infrastructure under PIA), as well as to maintain new and existing networks in the midlands.
Experience required:
* Working to PIA standards
* An in-depth understanding and experience of IT networking (TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, Switches, Routers, PoE, Fibre optic networks, Client/server)
* Experience and certifications in the installation and maintenance of fibre optic networks, Fusion Splicing, OTDR testing, particularly PIA qualifications.
* Fully conversant in UTP, Voice and Fibre Optic installation practices, methodologies and standards.
* Copper and Fibre cable termination, fibre optic fusion splicing inclusive of testing using the latest network infrastructure test equipment.
* Installation of all cable containment systems including PVC and Galvanized steel trunking, cable tray, basket and conduits.
An excellent problem solver, you will be proactive, flexible, and creative in your approach to each installation.
Qualifications:
* Industry qualification, City & Guilds or BTEC in data cabling system.
* Relevant BT accreditations; N23, N29, SA001, SA002, K8 etc
Location – Aylesbury based.
