We have an exciting opportunity to join award winning scientific company as a Field Service Engineer to cover a UK wide territory.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Service Engineer with a formal qualification (minimum Level 3 such as BTEC, City and Guilds or equivalent, HNC or higher) and experience from within the scientific or medical industry or with high-tech electronic / electrical servicing experience and looking to move into this sector. Located within 1 hour 30mins of their office in Buckingham as regular visits will be required weekly (1-2 days).
The successful candidate will be responsible for repairs, preventative maintenance on a portfolio of specialised products for the use in the life sciences and laboratories.
There is an excellent package in place with a salary up to £35,000 and earning potential of £11,000 with bonus & commission, 21 days annual leave, pension, healthcare & life insurance.
Further Responsibilities:
* Maintain a professional and friendly relationship with staff and customers.
* Apply working technical knowledge to perform simple or routine task in working on electronic equipment.
* Make recommendations to customers, on proper upkeep of the equipment
* Assist in the repair of in-house equipment (including demonstration units).
* Maintain adequate records of all service repairs, including parts used. Completes all paperwork pertaining to service call and immediately forwards to proper locations. Keeps in constant contact with service supervisor each day.
* Assist in the promotion and knowledge transfer of Service Contracts to our user base.
* Receives and acts on customer inquiries for service. Contact customer promptly after receiving information
* · Answers all customer questions to best of ability or puts customer in touch with someone who can.
* · Responsible for making all travel arrangements while in the field. If delays are encountered contact customer and estimate time of arrival.
Person Specification:
* Eligible to work within the UK
* Eligible Driving Licence for the UK. Extensive traveling with engineering tools, parts and equipment is required.
* Formal education in Electronics/Electromechanical engineering.
* Technically competent using laboratory equipment is an advantage and an awareness of general laboratory safety is compulsory.
* Technical knowledge of Chemistry or Biochemistry is an advantage.
* Outgoing personality, determined, self-motivated and enthusiastic with a pro-active nature, able to work well in a team environment.
* Confident communication skills and an ability to devise and implement action-based plans
* Minimum two year work experience with extensive UK based travel.
* Minimum one year employment dealing directly with the public
