This market leading telecoms company is looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join the team to support the growth of the business as it expands its operations into new countries.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this is a full-time permanent position based in the Milton Keynes office and offers a great career development opportunity.
Key duties
* Day to day accounting, bookkeeping and all-round Finance and office administration tasks.
* Supporting the finance team and other depts in the business.
* Processing of Sales invoice transactions and Group Recharge invoice transactions on the X-ledger business system.
* Matching Customer payments to Sales Invoices.
* Weekly reconciliation of Customer account balances against payments.
* Issue Monthly Intercompany Statements to Subsidiaries and posting these on the X-ledger business system.
* Liaising with external accountants of subsidiaries to correctly understand/record Intercompany transactions whilst working with Finance Assistant to ensure adequate back-up documentation available.
* Assisting with multi-currency banking transactions and making payments on both UK and overseas banking systems.
* Reconciling Balance Sheet control accounts (Overseas Bank accounts, Intercompany, Debtors, Payroll and PAYE) and preparing P&L analysis reports.
* Posting monthly Payroll journals.
* Reconciling Balance sheet accounts (Non-Fixed Asset/Inventory).
* Assisting in preparation of parent company and consolidated accounts at a month-end and year-end for both internal reporting and external audit purposes.
* Liaising and coordinating with local subsidiary accounting teams and external advisors (accountants & auditors) in various African countries.
* Assist in maintaining day to day Banking relationships and Banking systems (mainly Barclays)
* Liaising and providing reports and information to external accountants for the year-end accounts and Tax returns (inclusive of R&D Tax credits).
* Any additional responsibilities required for the efficient running of the functional area.
The ideal applicant will be a part-qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CPA) or an Accounting Technician, with a good understanding of accounting systems and processes. You will have excellent numeracy, literacy, communication and organisational skills and advanced Excel skills to include Vlook ups and Pivot tables.
Experience in using a variety of financial systems in a multi-entity (consolidation), multi-currency environment is desirable. Experience of X-Ledger an advantage. Working knowledge of the French language would be helpful although not essential.

This is a permanent role paying £23,0000 – £27,000 + bonus + benefits and share options
