Youre a technical individual who can understand developers and what they do. You might even be able to do it yourself, or used to anyway. You can facilitate technical discussions and you know when to push back on an overly ambitious timeline. But thats not enough for you. You enjoy helping technical individuals better themselves both technically and personally, you enjoy helping a team decide on a technical direction and you really enjoy being part of the wider strategy and resource management.
Heres an opportunity for a technical individual to come in and gain valuable management experience. You could be coming from a development, systems analyst or more generalist technical role. You will be responsible for the technical and pastoral management for a team of developers. You will work closely with a delivery manager to determine technical timescales and plans. You will help your team grow and overcome obstacles. You will help maintain a collaborative team environment and lead from the front. If theres an urgent piece of work that needs completing, you wont be darting out at 4pm and leaving the team to crack on, youll be ordering pizza and knuckling down to drive up morale.
Essentially were looking for a techy who likes people and is looking for an opportunity to break into management.
