Head of Support Services – Dog Rescue
We are seeking a rare individual for a dedicated team, to help organise and deliver the processes and activities which help the rescue run smoothly.
Internal Job title: Head of Support Services
Location: High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.
Salary: £28,000 per annum
Closing date: 5:00pm, 28th September
About the role:
As Head of Support Services you will take pride in providing a first-rate service to uphold the mission of the charity, which includes supporting the Head of Rescue and Rehoming and Dog Carers whilst they focus on the welfare of the dogs.
Other key parts of the role will be to recruit and run an active volunteer programme as well as bring fresh ideas to fundraising activities along with the crucial ability to make them happen.
About you:
Being a diligent administrator will be just the baseline of the Head of Support Services role, you will have to be capable of so much more. Not least, you will need to have a good work ethic and be full of workable ideas and a pleasure to work with!
You will need to have line management experience covering employee relations and people processes. As well as a good knowledge of health and safety practices at work to manage this responsibility with the Head of Rescue and Rehoming.
You will need to be capable of making a positive impact on hearts and minds by persuasively engaging people face to face and on digital platforms. So, you will know the value of all forms of communication and how to react quickly and correctly to an opportunity or a challenge.
Good, competent use of the Microsoft Office Suite and the use of databases is essential. Familiarity with finance processes and systems such as QuickBooks would be beneficial.
Applicants should appreciate that animal rescue has its highs and lows, so we need someone who has the emotional resilience to handle the more harrowing aspects of the work. But in return this is a truly rewarding job that can turn around the lives of both dogs and people for the better!
