This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading provider of exhaust systems to the worldwide motorsports industry (F1, NASCAR, WRC, Indy Car, Rallycross, GT Cars and Le Mans prototypes.) for more than 30 years. As a development and production partner for engine builders and race teams, GoodFabs helps design and fabricate exhaust systems by utilising an experienced workforce and well-equipped workshop.
We are seeking a Quality Inspector to join the Inspection team at our base in Motorsport Valley in the UK who can meet the following criteria:
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing inspection role
* Experience of both the scanning and probing functionality of a FARO arm would be beneficial although training will be provided
* A qualification in NDT Inspection would be advantageous but not essential
* Competent in the use of Polyworks Inspector or similar dimensional measurement software
* Experience in the use of manual Coordinate Measuring Machines would be a distinct advantage
* NDT experience would also be an advantage
* An ability to read and understand CAD technical design drawings and identify Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) levels
* Strong computer literacy with experience of Microsoft Office packages and the confidence to use in-house systems / databases
* Excellent communication skills to facilitate communication directly with customers in addition to key personnel within the business

* Strong time management skills with a focus on prioritisation and planning to meet tight delivery deadlines
Job Description
* Conduct inspections of fabricated components and machined parts following the guidelines of the company Quality Inspection manual, proactively engaging with all aspects of the manufacturing process to ensure that both quality standards and customer requirements are achieved at all times
* Refer to Job Cards for appropriate processes and follow guidelines based on agreed levels of inspection allocated to customers
* Inspect parts from external suppliers to be used in the fabrication process as directed by the Production & Quality Manager
* Understand time-frames and plan inspection work to ensure customer delivery deadlines are met and allow for possible rework
* Raise any technical issues internally or externally to ensure they are addressed and that clients and colleagues are kept informed of progress
* Be aware of any parts submitted to inspection and where unsure of required action, be proactive in seeking guidance from the Workshop Manager
* Ensure products released from the control of the company are done so in accordance with the inspection requirements of the customer and that all relevant supporting documentation is provided where necessary
* Liaise with the in-house NDT inspection department
* Liaise with the roduction & Quality Manager should a product not conform to specifications prior to the product being released to the customer
* In the event of a non-conformance, raise appropriate concession documentation with the customer
* Maintain all inspection-related equipment and ensure proper calibration at all times
* Keep all inspection-related documents properly filed and organized in marked trays
* Be responsible for general housekeeping in the Quality / Inspection department
This is a permanent, UK-based role which includes a competitive salary and bonus scheme plus an excellent non-contributory pension on total earnings. 4 weeks holiday rising to 5 weeks after two years
