This is a kickstart job role through the Government kickstart scheme, to be eligible for the scheme you must meet the following criteria:
To be eligible to apply for the kickstart scheme you will be:
* 16-24 years old
* Claiming Universal Credit
* Struggling to secure work or an apprenticeship
* Would benefit from a quality six month paid job along with support an guidance to help you build your long-term career.
Requirements:
* To ensure that all clients are made to feel welcome on arrival at the salon.
* To work within the guidelines of the minimum standards book and ensure that these standards are met
* To have a knowledge of health and safety and procedures within the salon
* To manage the appointment system effectively and sure time is utilised properly and that columns are managed to maximise sales and opportunities
* To deal professionally with any potential problems relating to clients
* To take client bills at the end of their service and ensure that the next appointment is booked before they leave
* To answer the telephone in a friendly and professional manner and to offer treatments over the phone and at time of booking.
* To ensure all new clients have been skin tested before any colour service and that records are maintained and updated.
* To train other staff (especially assistants) on the correct way to answer the telephone and use the appointment system.
* To recommend homecare to each client that you leaves the salon and to ask each clients if everything has been okay with their visit.
* To give support to all your team mates so that they can organise and plan their working day.
* Together with your manager, organise and plan a training programme to continually develop your skills and stay current.
* To attend team meetings and input your views of anything new and relevant that may improve and help you, your team or the Changes Salon Group.
* To take their coats and bags, organise refreshments as soon as they have been checked in
* To ensure that stylist are informed of their clients arrival immediately
* To deal with difficult clients and complaints in a professional manager utilising the client improvement forms
* To record all messages in the message book and pass on to the relevant individual promptly.
* To have a good knowledge of all services and retail products sold in the salon including prices and timings
* To be able to professionally recommend the most suitable retail products for a client
* To cash up at the end of the day and reconcile that till against the computer
* To ensure that the reception desk is organised and kept tidy
* To ensure all client details are taken and recorded accurately over the telephone or using the new client forms and then input into the computer system and then regularly updated to maintain accuracy.
* To liaise with the receptionist, salon manager and stylists each day to foresee any potential problems and agree any appropriate action to be taken
* To plan regular performance appraisals with your salon manager.
* To understand how you can reach your set targets by utilising your skills on a daily basis.
* To arrive at work promptly at 8.50 and to be prepared to work over your day by 10 minutes
