As a Residential Support Worker in our children's home, no two days are ever the same, sometimes they may be challenging but always positive.
The children we support have experienced severe trauma and have complex needs, challenging behaviour, and other emotional & social needs.
You will receive full training in therapeutic childcare, support to attain a Diploma in Residential Childcare and benefit from career progression opportunities to management.
As a Residential Support Worker your responsibilities will include:
Providing a safe and supportive environment, ensuring the physical, social, emotional care and development of the children.
Supporting young people to attend appointments, helping with homework and assisting with outdoor activities.
Enabling young people to express their characters, feel safe and enrich their lives through positive behaviours and planned activities.
Demonstrating both sensitivity and appropriate assertiveness in dealing with challenging behaviour and promoting positive behaviour.
Undertaking household duties such as cooking, cleaning, gardening, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Maintaining a regular recording system in connection with each young person, be involved in the implementation of care plans and writing reports.

We are looking for qualities of resilience, patience, compassion and naturally caring.
Must have a full, clean driving licence.
Must be available to work long day shifts and sleep ins across all days of the week on a rota basis.
This is a full-time position, working 39 hours and two sleep ins per week on average. The shifts are long day shifts from 10am to 10pm.
