Job Title: Mobile Fabric Technician
Location: Milton Keynes and surrounding area
Salary: £28,459.31 per annum (inclusive of on call / standby)
Benefits: Company vehicle, Company pension scheme, BUPA (single cover), 28 days holiday
Hours: 45 hours per week – Monday to Friday.
On call / standby: 1 week in 5
Our client is a Global Facilities Management company and due to continued success with this highly respected national Blue-Chip retailer is looking to recruit an experienced Fabric Technician to look after stores within the Bedfordshire area.
Job Purpose:
This is a key position, carrying out planned and reactive fabric maintenance across a number of retail stores. The role will involve painting, basic plumbing, basic joinery, changing lights, changing locks etc.
The purpose of this role is to carry out non-technical repairs and minor PPM’s. You will also assist in carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, electrical, and mechanical plant works with your Onsite Electrician.
All work will be completed to the highest standards in an efficient and cost-effective manner, whilst complying with the laid-down company Health and Safety policy.
Key Accountabilities:
* Compliance and Statutory Inspections
* Fabric Maintenance
* Pre-planned Maintenance
* Reactive repairs and maintenance
* Handyman Service
* Projects – subject to competitive tender
Main PPM Responsibilities:
* Completion of low-level PPM statutory inspections and low value maintenance
* Hanging of shelves, posters, notice boards, posters and signage
* Furniture checks and adjustments
* Assistance with small-scale furniture movement
* Replacement of floor tiles (carpet ceramic)
* Replace suspended ceiling tiles and clean ceiling grilles
* Replacing lamps
* Re-grouting and de-scaling in washrooms, showers and toilets
* Small painting projects (touch-up) to refresh communal areas and client offices
* Replacement ad repair of door furniture, including door closures
* Minor repairs to plumbing and accessories in washrooms and toilets, including sink flow checks
* Maintenance and repair in kitchenettes and communal areas
* Where radiators are present, bleed and check operation of TRVs.
* Undertake any other engineering tasks as required by the Help Desk, Area Supervisor, or Line Manager.
* Production of information for quotations
* Complete report accident, near misses returns in a timely manner
Qualifications or Required Experience:
* Level 2 NVQ General Building Operations or similar is essential
* A valid CSCS is essential.
* Level 2 Diploma in Construction Skills Bench Joinery, or a Level 2 Extended Diploma in Site Carpentry is desirable.
* Level 2 NVQ in Painting and Decorating is desirable.
* Previous experience in shopfitting or building maintenance is required.
* Ability to maintain and repair a range of equipment.
* Must have driving license
