DATA ENGINEER – Remote, up to 60k – 12-month FTC

SearchDATA is currently partnered with a growing insurance services firm based in Milton Keynes that are looking for a Data Engineer to join their growing data analytics team.

You'll be working in a multi-disciplinary team responsible for multiple projects including Systems Integrations, Data Migrations, Reporting etc. As such, what we're looking for is a candidate with a strong grounding in ELT / ETL processes and exposure to MS Azure.

What we can offer:

Salary up to £60,000.00 per annum, depending on skills/experience

£320 (before tax) start up allowance for home equipment
Currently working from home until Dec 2021 then a hybrid of office/home working i.e. 1 or 2 days per week – flexible depending on location

Purpose of the role:

Develop and implement data solutions that turn raw data into useful insights.
Develop Azure-native services and ELT flows within a source controlled, sprint-based team, from a wide range of data sources.

Key Outputs:

Be able to analyse a problem and create an elegant, repeatable solution.
Development of ELT pipelines and control flows.
Development of models to provide capability for data reporting and analysis.
Use Git and DevOps to develop and maintain standardised, automated solutions.
Work with stakeholders, and gather requirements, to maximise BI capabilities.
Maintain and constantly improve data capabilities by reviewing processes and systems.
Work with analysts in development of Power BI visualisations.

Key Skills:

Be proficient with Azure native data services, particularly Data Factory and Databricks.
Experience of working in an agile team, with Azure DevOps, Git integration and release pipelines.
Good knowledge of PowerShell and automated unit testing.
A working knowledge of SQL, DAX and tabular modelling.
A confident communicator, who is able to turn business needs into requirements and technical specs, and to convey those back to the wider business.
A determined problem solver, with an analytical mindset and attention to detail.
Some experience of Power BI and an overview of the Microsoft Power Platform would be beneficial
