Salary: £28,000 – £30,000
An existing opportunity has arisen for a Buyer to join an engineering company in Slough, you will be involved in a mixture of projects and production purchasing across the company.
Main duties for the appointment Buyer will be:
Requests for quotations
Responsible for purchase orders and Supply Chain function from order to on time delivery
Purchasing of all stocked and non-stocked items
Assisting suppliers, building and maintaining excellent relationships to negotiate best prices
Review existing suppliers as well as engaging with new suppliers
Ensure stock is managed efficiently to guarantee customer demand is always met
Report shortages and late deliveries to Account Managers
Update inventory to ensure stock levels are kept at appropriate levels, updating MOQ (minimum order quantities) and current supplier pricing
Drive price reductions where possible and appropriate
Arrange transport of same day requirements
Skills and experience needed to be the successful Buyer:
Experience of working in a manufacturing environment with high quality standards
Be meticulous and accurate with excellent attention to detail
Be flexible and adaptable in approach to work with the ability to multi-task
Must be able to work well as part of a team and to tight deadlines
Be practical, efficient and able to prioritise workloads in a busy working environment
Be enthusiastic about joining a small but growing company and be proactive in identifying opportunities to improve quality and productivity
