The company is one of Europe's largest manufacturers and distributors of polymer materials. They are looking to recruit a Logistics Operations Supervisor to safely and effectively supervise and coordinate the day to day on site logistics operations activities of the Milton Keynes manufacturing site and 3PL partners. The Logistics Operations Supervisor will have experience of a similar role in a manufacturing environment.

Duties of the Logistics Operations Supervisor will include:

Supervise the logistics team to deliver Operational Excellence in all aspects of site logistics operations.

Manage operations within established budgets and deliver performance against agreed KPI's.

Maintain a high team focus on HSE and lead by example to strive for Goal Zero performance. Apply site and corporate HSE guidelines and ensure compliance with Operational Excellence Standards and Company philosophy of Goal Zero.

Optimise the utilisation of on site and third party storage facilities, bulk silos and warehousing, particularly with regard to "overspill" operations.

Optimise work practices and transaction processes and associated operations ensuring proper traceability and auditability of raw materials and finished products in accordance with site and corporate quality procedures and ISO standards. Maintain a high level of customer and quality focus

Contribute to overall site manufacturing efficiency by delivering efficient and timely production order processing and plant scheduling services.

Make an effective contribution to customer service through efficient sales order execution, timely materials availability and delivery performance in accordance with sales / customer requirements

Maintain good functional working relationships with site operations personnel (i.e. Delegated Buyer, Operations Manager, Materials Management Controller, Shift Leaders, Production Planner, Logistics Operations manager regarding the availability of Raw Materials and Finished Goods), European CSG, central planning and asset management groups. Foster an atmosphere of cooperation across multiple interfaces both on and off-site with internal and third party (haulier) contacts

Review and monitor performance of third party Logistics service providers and associated operations (cost and quality of service)

Maintain and develop reporting systems and processes for site logistics and supply chain performance (safety, costs and operational KPI's)

The Logistics Operations Supervisor will have:

Vocational qualification in an appropriate field of expertise preferred.

Good level of secondary education including GCSE passes in Maths and EnglishMinimum 5 years team leadership/supervisory experience in an operational environment, preferably within chemical/polymers manufacturing or a warehousing/logistics environment

Audit experience preferred.

Brexit procedures and export documentation (MRN, T1, T2) knowledge preferred.
