System Configurator
Our client is a global leader in electronic key and locker management solutions, they are an award-winning company and growing from strength to strength. The primary objective of this role is to be responsible for the configuration of readers to company systems via customers’ access control cards.
Along with providing the interface between Project Managers and Distributors to production, the role involves configuring readers and company systems to enable those systems to read the information required by the customer.
Tasks:
* Work with UK Project Managers and International Distributors to ensure the correct data, card readers and sample cards are obtained to enable products to be configured to read the required information from the cards.
* Use the sample cards to configure the readers and the company systems to enable those systems to read the information required by the customer
* Document all information regarding the card reader configuration and settings, including status of job, configuration file and any specific instructions for the mounting, wiring and/or test of the reader.
* Where necessary source and purchase card readers based upon customer specification
* Co-ordinate with the Production department to schedule the card reader configuration in line with the production schedule.
* Provide telephone and office-based support for customer queries regarding readers.
* Clarify orders with relevant parties (e.g. Customer Sales Administrator, Project Managers, R&D etc.) in order to ensure detail is correct prior to preparation of build sheets. Follow up on missing information with relevant parties.
* Raise work orders and allocate/issue materials in the MRP system and close works orders once complete.
* Process spares orders for readers, including preparing / drilling the reader plate (fascia) and mount the reader in position, including prepping and fitting of the cables.
* Keep up to date with all the latest technology through training (on-line / webinars) and working with HID.
* Perform any other duties required to assist in supporting the achievement of the Company objectives.
* Escalate any complex issues that cannot be resolved or any requests for currently unsupported readers / formats, to the R and D team
* Provide some resilience within the wider configuration team, including creation of build sheets in line with the sales orders, processing of ECN’s and lockers.
Requirements:
* Experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel, OneDrive / SharePoint
* Comfortable with using hand tools and drills
* Are able to read and interpret design drawings and other technical documentation
* You will be self-motivated and trustworthy with strong organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
* You will also have a proactive approach to problem resolution along with a keen eye for attention to detail.
* Good at problem solving and having attention to detail
* Good organisational skills and being able to prioritise work as needed
* Working under pressure
* Great teamwork and being comfortable with working with all areas of the business
* Are comfortable discussing readers and configurations with customers, including those in areas other than the UK
Desirable skills:
* Basic electronics experience
* Knowledge of MRP systems, with Microsoft AX and SAP experience an advantage
* Knowledge of Jira an advantage
Package
Salary – £23,000 + Bi-annual discretionary bonus
Hours – 8.30am – 5.30pm Monday – Friday
Location – Onley
Pension – Company pension scheme 5%
Holiday allowance – 25 days holiday + bank holidays + ex-gratia day for Christmas Eve
