Roma Black are currently working with a client who support Buckinghamshire County Council and are recruiting for a Project Manager to work in their Highways Department.
We are looking for someone with proven project management experience who is ideally APM qualified.
The Highways Project Manager will be responsible for directing complex projects within budget and to deadline.
Day to day responsibilities of a Highways Project Manager:
Responsible for the preparation of feasibility studies, scheme reports, scheme design for highways, drainage, flooding and a variety of other projects
Resolving technical issues as they occur for a range of areas across the project and for the monitoring of progress
Attend progress meetings, public exhibitions and public inquiries
Attend all site and depot locations within Buckinghamshire
Providing coaching and mentoring to Junior members of staff
Management of suitable resources to ensure deadlines are successfully met
Deliver the programme of works to budget, to programme and to the right quality
Ensure strong budgetary control and financial management is undertaken
Create efficiency through continuous improvement
Manage the production of Briefing Notes and Cabinet Member Approval reports and Key Decision Reports
Meeting agreed deadlines
To manage the Health and Safety, Environmental Management System, Quality Management System
Essential Background/Skills of a Highways Project Manager:
Project management qualification – ideally APM
Experience of managing complex projects
Knowledge of highways / streetworks / civil engineering would be ideal, but not essential
Able to change priorities at short notice
High level communication skills both written and verbal
Driving licence Features and Benefits:
Competitive salary up to £45,000 p/a
Flexibility with regards to part remote working available although some time must be spent in the Aylesbury office and visiting sites in Buckinghamshire
