Permanent Production Operative
Staffline are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for Food Production Operative on a permanent basis.
You will be responsible for working as part of a wider team to manufacture and prepare for distribution high quality products to required standards for our clients in both the retail and foodservice sectors.
This role will involve you working on a rotational shift pattern of days and nights – 2 weeks of Days (06:00 – 18:00, 46 hours on week 1 and 34.5 hours on week 2) and then 2 weeks of nights (18:00 – 06:00, 46 hours on week 1 and 34.5 hours on week 2).
Your Time at Work
– Ensure that all production is manufactured in accordance with the Health and Safety, Quality and Food Safety standards as specified in relevant site procedures and highlight any non-conformances to the relevant team leader/supervisor
– To work flexibly within the company as per business requirement
– To communicate effectively and work in collaboration with Hygiene, Technical, Stores and Engineering to ensure the required efficiency and performance targets are achieved
– Strict adherence with product specifications and allergen control policy to ensure raw materials are used efficiently and that machine settings are correct
– Maintain the required housekeeping standards in all operational areas, continuously cleaning as part of 'clean as you go' procedures
– Quality checking and completion of relevant paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
– Accurately recording waste
– Carry out all plant/product changeovers within agreed timescales and reporting any issues regarding machine safety to the appropriate Manager
– Participate and positively contribute to crossfunctional project improvement teams and LEAN teams
– Work towards continuous improvement in performance for self and team
– Operate equipment/machinery where trained and as required
– Embrace business control systems, such as AX to support effective stock inventory and traceability
– To follow reasonable management requests and be available for training

Education and Qualifications:
– Level 2 CIEH Award in Food Safety for Manufacturing essential (training provided)
– IOSH accreditation essential (training provided)
– Six Sigma White Belt
– Good standard of written and verbal English
– At least level 2 in English and numeracy or equivalent
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
– General understanding of food manufacturing practices
– Good communication skills both verbal and written
– Understanding of importance of Health and Safety in the workplace
– General understanding of continuous improvement and seven waist
– Conducts oneself in line with Code of Conduct and LUUK Values
– Ability to follow strict operating parameters and procedures
– Ability to contribute to problem solving, process optimisation and continuous improvement activities and seven waist
– Ability to maintain focus and drive when dealing with fast paced and repetitive tasks
– Effective communication skills which support a harmonious and inclusive work environment for all
– Good eye for detail with high standards
– Production experience (ideally within food manufacturing) where performing repetitive tasks and having challenging technical demands go hand in hand
