Senior Financial Accountant

High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire (Home/office hybrid working)

Salary up £69,000 per annum according to skills and experience

Permanent, Full Time (37 hours per week)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Financial Accountant to lead our financial accounting team. You will be responsible for accurate and timely delivery of all regulatory reports including interim and year-end financial accounts. You will also ensure all statutory returns meet accounting and regulatory requirements, supporting the production of the monthly management accounts process with balance sheet and cashflow delivery.

Other key accountabilities will include:

Ensuring all VAT and Corporation Tax returns are completed on time and accurately.

*

Leading a small team and managing the development of direct reports.

*

Ensuring that the accounting standards are applied consistently throughout the group.

*

Continual improvement of balance sheet reconciliations.

*

Internal audit processes and outcomes.

*

The regular review of procedures or systems with teams to identify improvements and simplify processes and decision making.

*

Management of Corporation Tax, VAT and any other relevant taxes ensuring compliance and reporting.

To be successful in this role you must have:

*

Full accountancy qualification (ACA, CA, ACCA. IPFA, CIMA)

*

Demonstrable strong technical competence and experience in all aspects of statutory, financial and management accounting including the preparation of year end and quarterly accounts, budgets and management reports and statutory returns.

*

Strong Excel skills.

*

Basic understanding of VAT and corporation tax matters.

*

Thorough understanding of current accounting practices and best practice standards within the sector.

*

Experience in managing and developing small teams.
