Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 per annum OTE – subject to experience

MedicAlert is looking for a Business Development Manager to drive the charity’s member growth via the creation and nurture of partnerships.
Our members live with medical conditions which make them vulnerable. Our service saves lives by providing access to their vital medical information in an emergency. The peace of mind they – and their loved ones – experience allows them to remain active and independent, improving their physical and mental health.
This new role will be responsible for identifying and engaging organisations who will support our charitable projects, introduce us to their audiences and recommend our service. Partner roles may include project sponsorship, agency, referral and/or PR opportunities. As a new position, we will work together to develop the role – we are looking for someone with the enthusiasm and potential to get stuck in.

Business Development Manager Job Description:
Job Purpose:
Create sustainable growth in the number of MedicAlert members and associated income by:
·establishing partnerships and relationships with third parties who will refer, sponsor and introduce new members and support/sponsor charitable projects.
·nurturing existing partnerships to ensure mutual benefit
Responsibilities include (but are not be limited to):
Working with the CEO
* Agree strategy and approach
* Regularly review progress and adjust tactics to achieve objectives
* Provide reporting as required for the Trust meetings
New Relationships
* Identify potential partners to initiate MedicAlert Protection Projects and attract funding support
* Conduct relevant research to facilitate initial approaches
* With personal involvement where appropriate, coordinate all communication and interaction from MedicAlert (including CEO and Trustees) during the ‘selling’ phase
* Prepare, present and manage all required agreements
* Develop, manage and profile a comprehensive prospect database to ensure data is accurate and up-to date, maintaining records of all communication
Existing relationships
* Ensure understanding of what is required and valued by each existing relationship
* Communicate regularly with our contacts, supplying reporting to ensure high levels of satisfaction the requirements and benefits to existing partners
* Identify opportunities to extend the relationships
Relationships
* Working closely with other teams to ensure that the communication activities are built on up-to-date, robust information and can be responsive to changes in that evidence base
* Work with other team members to implement campaign activity
* Monitor and report on ongoing success of business development initiatives
