This role will be based at our headquarters in Marlow, Buckinghamshire
As a Logistics Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include
* 5 – 10 year’s experience working as a logistician within a technology company (ideally mechanical/aerospace)
* Bachelor degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain or related field
* Leader of warehouse operations
* Ability to plan & optimise the flow and control of inventory
* Inventory management
* Optimal Design and utilization of space for warehouse operations
As a Logistics Manager your key responsibilities will include
* Provide control and direction to any 3rd party point of use inventory vendors.
* Dealing with Customs and Excise communications, queries, audits; administering export guidance updates
* Continuous Improvement, 5S, Root Cause Problem Solving and Standard Work.
* Developing reporting staff; setting clear objectives; managing performance; developing skills and competencies
* Monitoring & Managing material shelf life
* Performing all operations according to prescribed SHE principles
Receiving & Shipping:
* Manage all docks and ensure proper safety, timely receipts, proper transactions and documentation processes are conducted.
* Coordinate with quality and buyers for proper disposition and timely return of any damaged material
* Manage overall site freight costs by planning & managing documentation, packing and packaging, shipping and distribution in accordance with specified INCOTERMS and Utilising corporate freight agreements.
* Establishing and managing relationships with freight forwarders, international shipping companies and couriers,
* Communicating shipping status with customers, dealing with customer correspondence regarding delivery and RMA progress
* Preparing special documents and labels for hazardous materials shipments
* Preparing export clearance documentation in accordance with statutory requirements and with particular reference to the US laws and regulations as enshrined in EAR, ITAR and NISPROM
* Preparing bills of loading and delivery documentation for products, parts, and materials for shipment and routes following customer instructions
Warehouse Management:
* Manage the optimisation and day to day operations of warehouse network and identify improvement opportunities, ensuring a safe, and controlled inventory process
* Conducting cycle counts, physical inventories of stockrooms and WIP ensuring inventory accuracy and control
* Control access to stock room, WIP, and floor stock
* Working to achieve disposition of inactive, obsolete and surplus inventory
Inventory Control:
* Develop strategy to reduce working capital by optimizing inventory holding.
* Work with other staff to ensure thorough ABC analysis is carried out resulting in the correct level of safety stock is regularly reviewed and enacted.
