Customs and Shipment Coordinator
Temporary to Permanent
Hours of Work: 9am to 6pm, Monday to Friday
£24,000 per annum

What experience do you already need to have?
Strong numeracy / literacy
Commercially minded
Quick to respond to new challenges
Highly organised with ability to work under pressure and to deadline
Problem solving skills
Good geographical knowledge of the UK
Displays a confident and professional manner
Attention to detail
Competency with MS Excel is preferred as spreadsheets are used on a daily basis – if you have a good understanding of spreadsheets and are accurate with data then please also apply.What will you be trained to do?
Act as direct point of contact for customs at ports all over the UK
Update the internal system and clients with when the shipment will arrive
Chasing any delayed shipment whilst updating the client all the time.
Digging into the detail of reasons why the shipment is being delayed
Helping the boarder control with any documentation that will aid in getting the transport through quicker.
Logistically planning the route of the driver to give accurate feedback to the clients.
Manage the shipment status and advising the clients
Communicate and escalate to team members and Management wherever necessary
Maintain systems with accurate and real-time data
Ensure total accuracy of all information and high standards of operational service are met at all times
Take responsibility for themselves and others at all times observing Health and Safety and any related laws governing the work place
