Vanta Staffing are recruiting for the UK's leading materials handling solutions providers based in Buckinghamshire located just outside High Wycombe. We are looking for an experienced service engineer who has electrical and hydraulic knowledge. It will be a permanent job totalling 40 hours a week. Monday – Friday 8am- 4.30pm

Normal hours of 40 hours, Monday – Friday 8am – 4.30pm, overtime available when deadlines need to be met. Paying at £25,946.07- £27,628.29. Ideally we are looking for a field engineer who doesn't want the field position anymore and wants a workshop position, or a skilled workshop engineer. Background should be plant & machinery but forklifts ideally. Training will be given. Immediate start.

The position purpose To provide a professional, efficient & responsive service by means of maintaining & repairing materials handling equipment to the highest standard whilst maintaining Health and Safety standards. Always ensuring you provide value for money for both the customer and the company.

Minimum /requirement: Must have attended at least 2 product training courses.

Technical knowledge requirements (At this point an engineer can have a bias to either IC or electrical trucks)

Electrical knowledge

a) Be able to read both electrical and IC truck wiring diagrams

b) Have a reasonable ability to diagnose electrical faults on both IC and battery trucks

c) Be able to use a multi meter

d) Be able or know how to use the following CAN units Curtis, Sevcon, Zapi. [training will be given if required.

Hydraulic knowledge

a) Be able to read a hydraulic schematic diagram

b) Carry out a pressure test and be capable of setting relief pressure on the following: –

Main pressure, secondary pressure, steering pressure

c) Be able to strip and reassemble a hydraulic valve bank, cylinder and gear pumps

Transmission: – carry out a full pressure test both electronically (on certain models) and manually using pressure gauges and diagnose problems

a) Be able to interpret the test information for Main, forward /reverse clutch, torque converter pressure and carry out a full stall test.
