The Senior Buyer is responsible for sourcing all products from an assigned Region(s) for multiple Markets. The focus is to drive overall Value by optimizing Quality, Service, Cost, and Inventory. This will be achieved by building close partnerships with existing as well as new suppliers. This position is committed to timely and efficient launching of new products, activating alternative sources, negotiating purchasing agreements, conducting bids, etc. to meet the Company’s short- and long-term business plans. Additionally, this position may have day to day buying accountability for assigned component and material categories for select markets as well as responsibility for managing other personnel.

Key Activities:
* Build the Company’s global supply chain to deliver optimal Value to our customers and the Company
* Foster a culture of customer advocacy and maintain an external focus
* Implement a strategic sourcing strategy to identify, select, qualify, and manage supplier partners
* Utilize the "Total Cost of Ownership" model to generate more competitive negotiating environments with new and existing suppliers to achieve real cost savings
* Deliver value from our suppliers globally through close collaboration, value engineering projects, work process streamlining, systems enhancements, etc. while ensuring healthy partnering relationships
* Maintain Quality Management standards through our suppliers
* Collaborate internally and externally with a “One Team” mentality through regularly scheduled and ad hoc interactions
* Integrate with Product Development, Sales, Finance, and other Operations groups using a cross functional approach to successfully launch new products and serve customer needs
* Execute all product sourcing and procurement work processes with integrity and excellence while continuously driving improvements
* Develop and monitor key performance metrics including On-time and In-full Deliveries, Defect Rates, Purchase Price Variance, Inventory Levels, Freight Cost, On-time Payment, etc.
* Develop and maintain program schedules to achieve critical timeline dates
* Communicate in an effective and timely manner
* Establish “internal customer” relationships with Product Development to support new product launches, qualify primary and alternate sources, complete Value Engineering programs, etc.
* Harness suppliers’ capabilities and resources to augment and optimize the Company’s productivity (e.g. Product Development, Customer Order Fulfillment, etc.)
* Ensure that all fiduciary requirements are fulfilled (e.g. Vendor Payment, Record Keeping, Policy Governance, External Auditor Support, etc.)
* Identify and mitigate key supply chain risks with particular focus on Business Continuity Plans (BCP’s)
* Supervises and develop the capability of assigned Sourcing and Purchasing team members
Areas of Responsibility:
Find and on-board new vendors
Source all new products to meet Quality, Service, Cost and Inventory requirements
All existing supplier Quality, Service, Cost and Inventory related topics
Manage a diverse supplier base that provides agility and value
Track the performance of suppliers and ensure they are meeting established targets
Supplier payment, invoicing, and other related administrative topics
Oversee and mentor all assigned personnel

Desired Skills and Experience:
Qualifications in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations, Logistics, Engineering, or related disciplines
10+ total years progressive career growth in strategic procurement, sourcing, and inventory management with a portion of the time in managerial roles
Procurement background in commodities such as aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized steel, plastic extrusion, injection molding, textiles, fiber glass, and concrete are a plus
Global procurement leadership responsibilities with deep experience working with suppliers and a proven track record of creating sourcing strategies that resulted in significant cost savings
Experience working with a mainstream Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tool – e.g. Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, etc
