At Viridor, we're investing in state-of-the-art recycling facilities, allowing for a wider range of products to be recycled. Our Materials Recycling Facilities (MRFs) are some of the biggest and most advanced of their kind in Europe. Our MRFs across the UK use a combination of advanced mechanical sorting and manual quality control to separate materials into individual streams, ready to be put back to work. Our investment in technology allows us to operate at the highest quality, environmental, energy efficiency and health and safety standards.
We are looking to recruit a Unit Manager to lead our team in Milton Keynes, working 37.5 hours a week.
Our Unit Manager will ensure that the MRF safely operates and complies with all legislative, statutory and Company requirements and that the facility meets and exceeds agreed Business Plans and P&L. Full accountability and the responsibility to lead, motivate, manage and develop the facility in line with the Company's strategic aims and the Company's values and behaviours.
Our ideal Unit Manager:
Extensive proven knowledge and experience of waste management or other process based operations.
A degree in Environmental Science/Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
NEBOSH General Certificate in Health and Safety or equivalent.
Understanding of Continuous Improvement methodology, 5S, lean RCM and Six Sigma.
Strong leadership, people management skills and the ability to build and maintain meaningful relations liaising with different regulatory bodies, costumers, suppliers and other departments within the company.
Driven, resilience and self-motivated, able to adapt to changing situations and lead by example.
Knowledge of financial systems and capital expenditure management.
Knowledge of ICT and its interface with modern business systems.
Ability to work with strict timelindes under pressure.
