Facilities and Maintenance Manager
About us
At Sorbon Estates we acquire, invest, develop, lease and retain commercial and residential property within a South-East holding across several asset classes. We have a multimillion-pound portfolio of assets – nearly 1,300 businesses and families live or work in our properties – and we are expanding further within our region.
We have a small head office of around 30 people and we closely manage, using mainly in-house resources, most aspects of the business. The size of our business and entrepreneurial spirit encourages increased responsibility and we like to think that anyone who works with us can make a difference.

What you’ll be doing
* Lead the maintenance team to ensure that the presentation, maintenance and health and safety of the portfolio is upheld
* Work in partnership with our estates management team you will ensure that a clear centralised property inspection process is followed, dilapidations are managed and tenant repair covenants are identified and applied
* Implement and manage robust processes and procedure for the effective management of tenant repair work and actively reviewing planned maintenance.
* With excellent knowledge and application of health and safety legislation you will ensure this is adhered to at all times
* Manage the contract procurement and ongoing relationship with providers for service charges/contracts
Skill and experience
* Proven experience in a similar facilities and/or maintenance management role
* Excellent working knowledge and application of health and safety legislation applicable to the leasing of residential and commercial premises
* Proven experience within a commercial property management department
* Practical building knowledge and understanding of costs of works
* Strong people management experience with demonstratable experience of leading remote teams
* Adept at developing and managing clear processes
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
* Strong commercial and negotiation skills
