The Role
We are recruiting for an Experienced Support worker to work in Child and Adult Work Force.
Clients are mainly based in Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, and London.
There will be allocated to work in semi-independent units for children aged 16 years to 18 years as a Support Worker or in both as per your availabilities.
We are looking for someone who drives , you will be able to have consistent shifts throughout our clients.
Shift patterns are long days, 9am to 5pm, sleep in etc.
Enhanced DBS and clear referencing following completion of training is mandatory.
Overview of the role
Making friends is often difficult for the people we support, and so a key responsibility of support work is promoting and planning meaningful days. This can be supporting people to enjoy their hobbies and interests, helping them to get involved in community groups, or encouraging them to learn a new skill like cooking or painting. For many people we support, communication is not easy. An important aspect of the job is understanding how the person communicates and how others can best communicate with them.
Job Description:
To work in line with the Organisation’s aim to provide a high quality, reliable support service tailored to suit each of our service users individual support plans or Personal support plan and to promote independence and choice.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
* To promote independence, life skills and informed choices in accordance with the individual care plan and to enhance inclusion in the community
* To Respect for Service Users right to choose and refuse assistance
* To support for the Service User in making informed choices
* To make sure Service Users develop the ability to reach their full potential
* Service Users are supported to maintain personal hygiene and appearance
* To ensure Service Users are treated with respect at all times.
* To provide a safe environment for chosen activities of Support is given to Service Users to manage their domestic and personal resources.
* To ensure provision of specialised care to clients with specific needs according to your own skills and qualification. etc.
* Encouraging and supporting the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
* Supporting and helping with health care needs, including routine checks, or administrating medication
* Providing physical support which may include helping with household tasks and personal care.
* Providing emotional support for an individual and their families.
* Teaching life skills, such as shopping, using public transport and paying for bills.
* Working with other healthcare professionals to ensure that all care needs meet the highest possible standards.
Someone with driving skills, full driving licence and access to own vehicles are highly recommended to apply
