Omni are working in partnership to support a leading highways agency to recruit a Highways Inspector. The position is an exciting opportunity to undertake a crucial role within the highway network by undertaking Safety and Service Inspections and gather Asset Management information on the highway network across the local authority.
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE;
• A full UK driving licence
• Ability to attain the necessary certification required to perform the role including but not exclusive to ‘Highway Safety Inspection Training and Assessment Programme’ City and Guilds 6033
• Ability to collect accurate asset and defect information
• Possess competent IT skills including the ability to adapt to various software and hardware
• Ability to manage time and workloads to a strict inspection schedule and complete tasks in a timely manner
• Possess a personal fitness level to be able to spend the majority of the role outdoors walking the network in all weather conditions
• Ability to continually develop professional knowledge, skills and behaviours
• Ability to communicate effectively within all mediums
• Ability to coordinate and collaborate with other team members
• Familiar with the requirements of working safely within a highway environment
• The ideal candidate will have experience of working in highway maintenance and/or with an asset management system
YOU WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR;
• Performing and accurately reporting Safety Inspections and Service Inspections across the TfB road network as set out in the Inspection Schedule;
• Performing walked and driven highway inspections working alone and alongside others;
• Ensuring inspection processes and procedures are being followed as set for the service and in accordance with legal requirements;
• Reporting any issues not covered by the inspection regime for the general betterment of the network;
• Managing and updating databases and other digitised data for the area, ensuring data collected is accurate and error free;
• Providing support and evidence for insurance claim defence;
• Preparing, attend and if necessary, give evidence at court;
• Identifying opportunities to reduce clutter on the network for prioritisation with the client;
• Liaising with Local Area Technicians and others working within area to share intelligence and improve the condition of the network;
• Delivery of elements of the maintenance contract as defined by the Asset Manager;
• Ensuring all related service performance indicators and contractual requirements are met
