Role: Head of Procurement
Location: Milton Keynes post COVID
Salary: Up to £75,000 DOE + bonus + benefits
Term: 12 months fixed term contract
Hours: 35 hours per week Monday-Friday
We are partnering with a contact centre client based in Milton Keynes to recruit for an experienced Head of Procurement on a 12 month fixed term contract.
The role is to lead the Procurement team and set procurement strategy for their business, while implementing that strategy and delivering on objections set. You will provide guidance, oversight and support to the business in the procurement and management of suppliers, maximising value for money and delivering a first-class efficient and customer focused service and to lead on information systems and technology procurement
Role:
Development of a best in class procurement strategy to help meet the objectives and goals of the business
Development of business existing and future suppliers into strategic categories in line with best practice on Procurement processes
Leading a Procurement function and team to ensure that procurement processes enable profitability and competitive pricing to be achieved. Identify cost reduction and efficiency opportunities and contribute to the achievement of efficiency targets
Establishing a process for the monitoring supplier performance, including supporting contract owners in the development and agreement of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with suppliers, ensuring that the contract owner is equipped to monitor performance in accordance with SLAs and supporting contract owners in the implementation of Service Improvement Plans (SIPs) where appropriate
Providing leadership, direction, development and motivation to the Procurement team
Facilitating effective, efficient stakeholder management and obligations to be met
Responsibility for the review and production of legally binding documentation to secure compliant, competitive, quality sources to fulfil business needs, working with in house legal counsel where appropriate
Establishing, agreeing and maintaining purchasing policies
Leading compliance with policies and procedures ensuring controls are in place to minimise exposure to risk, including protection of customer confidentiality, commercially sensitive information, compliance, and relevant regulation
Analysing and developing Procurement metrics
Developing an existing KPI suite
Perform the full range of procurement and contracting activities including pre-qualification, tender management, negotiation and preparation of contracts
Manage the process for the measuring of supplier performance so that effective feedback takes place to facilitate continuous improvement
Lead the resolution of quality and service problems with suppliers
Understand the changing dynamics and challenges within the organisation and strive to continually evolve the supplier relationship to drive the maximum benefit and value from our supply chain
Work with Risk and Compliance to ensure regular updates are provided on changes to suppliers' services and that all information and data risks are assessed and mitigated through appropriate robust controls and contractual provisions
Responsible for the delivery of complex IT sourcing projects across the breadth of the category, including Cloud, SaaS, Digital and Professional Services categories and equipmentExperience:
Significant experience in a similar senior procurement role within a fast-paced environment
Experience of leading a Procurement function using a mix of fixed and flexible capabilities
Fully Qualified CIPS professional
Sector experience of insurance/financial services is desirable
A proven track record of negotiating to deliver results and achieving cost savings and improvements
Project management skills including strong stakeholder engagement
Strong character with the ability to work on own initiative
Strong presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal
Experience of working in a continuous improvement/ development focused organisation
Ensure employees have clear objectives and regular appraisal reviews
Commercially astute, financially literate and legally competent to negotiate complex supplier contracts
Experience of leading, managing and developing a team, maintaining a collaborative and constructive working environment within a department and across the organisation
Have strong influencing skills and leadership, with the gravitas to negotiate credibly with suppliers and engage with stakeholders at any level within the business
