Athona is currently recruiting for a Band 6 Social Worker to work in Oxfordshire for an Ongoing full time role.

The post is starting ASAP on an ongoing LOCUM contract, asking for 5 days a week / 7.5 hours a day.

The role is based within an Older People's Community Mental Health Team.

The role has been described as follows: – Carrying out social care assessment for older people with a variety of mental health needs in the community. A number of the patients have dementia and live alone so good communication and the ability to support carers and families is essential.

It is community based, so a car is essential, good IT skills are necessary for some assessments are done on Teams or virtually.

SW must have good knowledge of the Care Act and safeguarding and be able to carry out comprehensive assessment of care and support needs.

All staff must have experience of a broad range of mental health conditions and have the ability to care co-ordinate.
There is an assessment and treatment function in the role.

Any candidate should have completed their ASYE programme (the assessed and supported year in employment) and have it certified.
