Senior Humanitarian Development Manager
Salary: £36994- £39170 per annum, + good range of benefits
Based: Home based /Milton Keynes

This is an excellent opportunity to ensure this leading Children’s charity maximises the impact it has on the lives of the most vulnerable children, through building and establishing a sustainable and diverse funding pipeline, strategic external partnerships and learning process.
The focus of the role will be to influence the construction and assure the implementation of policies and procedures that ensure that all institutional fundraising actions are adequately informed by, and influencing, the fragile states and emergency sector in the UK and across the world.
Your Key Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
* Managing the coordination of the charity’s emergency response, in line with the Disaster Management Procedures.
* Ensuring the implementation of a system to anticipate changing risks to MVCs, liaising closely with the Senior Resilience Programme Advisor.
* Identifying strategic humanitarian research opportunities and partnerships and work effectively with the Research Manager to support pre-positioning and acquisition.
* Monitoring the competitive landscape, testing new approaches and adopting best practice strategies.
* On call requirement to lead or support emergency response during out of office / weekend hours.
* Effectively line managing staff to inspire staff to deliver responsibilities and enable staff development and support. Escalate issues as appropriate.
* Ensuring the acquisition of grants, tenders and innovative funding opportunities that will have maximum impact for MVCs in humanitarian contexts.
* Proactively participating in the creation of a learning culture by seeking learning opportunities, learning from experience & investing in flexible & collaborative working.
The successful candidate will have:
* An excellent understanding of humanitarian and development theory, process, and practice, including current humanitarian aid discourse, such as standards relating to quality and accountability in the aid sector (e.g. SPHERE, ICRC Code of Conduct, HAPI, etc.).
* Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline.
* Strong financial management in budgeting and reporting with knowledge of design requirements and regulations of major institutional donors.
* Proven experience of good quality proposal and report writing.
* Ability to take ownership of tasks from start to finish.
