Main info
Our school is part of Huntercombe Hospital which caters for up to 60 young people aged 12-18yrs being treated in an inpatient Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (Tier 4 CAMHs).
Our newly refurbished school is set within a 13th century listed manor house in extensive gardens. In our recent Ofsted inspection we were rated good. Students enjoy school; they say, ‘I like doing schoolwork –it acts as a break away from the fact that you are in hospital; it is probably the most normal part of being an inpatient. ’Staff have high expectations of students and they gently encourage them to try their best in every lesson. Students consider that the belief and constant encouragement from staff really helps their recovery
You will join a supportive and experienced team of dedicated education and support staff. Full training and development will be provided along with a bespoke induction programme and the ability to network with teachers across other Huntercombe school sites. With the support of colleagues, you will develop the skills, confidence and experience to deal with the challenging but rewarding environment within a specialist field.
The successful applicant should have a passion and commitment for providing creative and high quality learning experiences, be responsible for teaching on a small group basis, designing and implementing a programme of study. With a dynamic and inclusive approach you will have high expectations for our students and the drive to help them achieve the best possible learning outcomes. As a skilled teacher you will have an empathic approach and the ability to be flexible and adapt to individual needs.
Successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
